A pictorial book of this type is long over due and well worth the
price. If you don't own the artifacts, then a good quality photo is the
very next best thing.
This book is filled with many hard to find
and one of a kind items
that can't be seen
anyplace else.
What a
wonderful photo journey in time through the Michigan fur
trade era,
and a
very good reference book for collectors of trade materials
from
other area's of the
country as well. I am pleased to add this
great pictorial book to my
library for
reference work and look
forward to many years of usefulness and
enjoyment.
This book will
no doubt become a collectable in its own right. A
must for the
serious collector and researcher of fur trade period materials.

I received my two copies of "What They Left Behind" and yes, it is aperfect title for the diverse artifact contents. The book is great,
and the
photos are as superb as I expected; I like the many full page photos
with the excellent detail and clarity of the items. Especially our
favorite - the Father Marquette ring. Thanks for doing this to help record and
expose the Great Lakes Fur Trade history. Your book will be
appreciated by collectors and non collectors. I will treasure my
copy
for its illustrated history, reference works to the early Fur Trade,
and the
interesting color photos and subject matter.
